Products are shipped frozen on dry ice in cryotubes. Each cryotube typically contains 3 × 106 cells for adherent lines or 5 × 106 cells for suspension lines (refer to the batch CoA for details).
Información general
| Descripción | The MDCC-MSB1 cell line is a lymphoblastoid cell line derived from a chicken with Marek's disease, a highly contagious viral disease caused by Marek's disease virus (MDV), which belongs to the herpesvirus family. These cells are extensively used in veterinary virology and immunology research to study the pathogenesis of MDV, as well as in the development and evaluation of vaccines against this disease. The MDCC-MSB1 cell line exhibits characteristics typical of lymphoid cells, such as the expression of specific surface markers and cytokine production, which are crucial for understanding the immune response to MDV infection. In addition to its role in MDV research, the MDCC-MSB1 cell line is valuable for studying general mechanisms of oncogenesis and viral replication in avian species. The cells are known for their robust growth in suspension culture, making them convenient for large-scale production and experimental manipulation. Researchers utilize this cell line to investigate the molecular interactions between MDV and its host, to identify viral and host factors involved in disease progression, and to screen potential antiviral compounds. Overall, the MDCC-MSB1 cell line is a vital tool in both basic and applied avian virology research. |

|---|---|
| Suplementos | Supplement the medium with 10% FBS |
| Tiempo de duplicación | 10 hours |
| Subcultivo | Maintain cultures by periodically adding or replacing the medium. Initiate cultures with a density of 5 x 105 cells/ml and keep the cell concentration within the range of 3 x 105 to 1 x 106 cells/ml for optimal growth. |
| Densidad de siembra | 1 x 106 cells/ml |
| Renovación de fluidos | 2 to 3 times per week |
| Recuperación tras el deshielo | After thawing, allow the cells to recover from the freezing process for at least 24 hours. |
| Medio de congelación | As a cryopreservation medium, we use complete growth medium (including FBS) + 10% DMSO for adequate post-thaw viability, or CM-1 (Cytion catalog number 800100), which includes optimized osmoprotectants and metabolic stabilizers to enhance recovery and reduce cryo-induced stress. |

| Atmósfera de incubación | 37°C, 5% CO2, humidified atmosphere. |
| Condiciones de envío | Cryopreserved cell lines are shipped on dry ice in validated, insulated packaging with sufficient refrigerant to maintain approximately −78 °C throughout transit. On receipt, inspect the container immediately and transfer vials without delay to appropriate storage. |
| Condiciones de almacenamiento | For long-term preservation, place vials in vapor-phase liquid nitrogen at about −150 to −196 °C. Storage at −80 °C is acceptable only as a short interim step before transfer to liquid nitrogen. |
Control de calidad y análisis molecular
| Esterilidad | Mycoplasma contamination is excluded using both PCR-based assays and luminescence-based mycoplasma detection methods. To ensure there is no bacterial, fungal, or yeast contamination, cell cultures are subjected to daily visual inspections. |
